Design Spotlight: A Beautiful Drainage Solution

A Dry Creek Bed for run off and erosion.

Our client came to us with a need to eliminate water erosion from their house and driveway run-off that was affecting land around the natural pond. To eliminate the erosion, a dry creek bed was installed and tied into the existing artesian well. The artesian well functioned as an optional water feature to help refill the pond for dry months. The artesian well was directed to a small boulder that released water into the dry bed, funneling it down towards the pond. Pond liner and river rock was then installed to aid in slowing down water movement and shoring up the pond edge to prevent erosion.

A dry creek bed is a great way to aesthetically prevent water erosion. By using the natural grade of land, a dry creek bed can drain excess water from your property during heavy rainfall, quickly and efficiently moving that water away from your home. A dry creek bed is a wonderful addition and provides both aesthetic and function to your outdoor design.
